Our Ladies Weekend Out // Mental Approach to Climbing event is here! With all the positive feedback we've received regarding our Ladies Weekend Out events we figured we may as well run an impromptu LWO event again in the Eastern Sierra this summer only this time there's a twist! July 30th - August 1st, 12 lucky ladies will once again have the opportunity to come out with our professionally trained, AMGA Guides for a weekend of climbing only this time we're mixing things up a bit! The theme of our LWO Summer event will be "Mental Approach to Climbing" and we'll be focusing on topics such as attentive lead belaying and how to be a good support for your partner pushing their limits, addressing the fear of falling, pushing past physical and mental barriers, and more! Cost for our LWO Mental Training weekend is $350 and includes 2 nights camping and 2 days of mental training in the Eastern Sierra. Sierra Single Pitchn' Event
Golden State Guiding is excited to announce the 4th annual Sierra Single Pitchn’ event is back this July 16th - 18th in the beautiful June Lake region in the Eastern Sierra!
Come join us for an unforgettable weekend of climbing and camaraderie in the breathtaking June Lake area conveniently located in the heart of the Sierra and just a short drive from Mammoth Lakes and Yosemite National Park! Twelve lucky climbers will have the pleasure of climbing at two separate alpine crags throughout the weekend with our professionally trained, AMGA Guides. Our guests will have the opportunity to participate in multiple instructional clinics such as building top rope anchors, rappelling, and cleaning a sport anchor, and will get to meet new and long lasting climbing partners along the way! Downtown June Lake is easily accessible from our campsites for the weekend so after a long day of climbing, feel free to head into town and support local by grabbing a bite to eat or indulging in a tasty beverage from one of our favorite establishments, June Lake Brewing! Well we just wrapped up the inaugural Ladies Weekend Out 2.0 event in Bishop, CA and what a success it was! An ALL Ladies weekend of climbing is returning to San Diego this Spring!
After a 2 year hiatus our Ladies Weekend Out San Diego event is coming back! Golden State Guiding and our good friends T êra Kaia and Saint Archer Brewery are throwing another awesome Ladies Weekend Out event in San Diego on April 10th and 11th! Weston Sierra Splitboard Program
Besides the low tide conditions in the Sierra we couldn’t have asked for a better weekend to kick off our Sierra Splitboard Program with our partner Weston Backcountry! Following up to our Split Social a few weeks back, participants of the program gathered for our Split 101 where we focused on avalanche awareness and equipment, tour planning and the tools needed to execute a good plan for a day out, and of course, our partner Weston styled out all of our participants with a Splitboard! Big thanks to everyone who attended our inaugural Split 101, it was a real treat getting to spend the day with all of you. Also, big shout out to GSG Split Guide Will Sperry for executing the curriculum for our guests, excellent job out there. Big thanks to Miles Weaver for shooting photos on day 1 and to our friends and partner Ridge Merino for styling out our guests with dual lined buffs and guide tops, you guys rock! Weston Sierra Splitboard Program // Registration Open!
Registration officially opens today for our Weston Backcountry Sierra Splitboard Program in Mammoth Lakes, CA!
Golden State Guiding is excited to announce our new partnership with Weston Backcountry, a splitboard and ski company based out of Minturn, Colorado! GSG was drawn to Weston specifically for their dedication to education in the backcountry, their desire to support guides and guide services in our industry, their commitment to the environment and being a 1% for the Planet member like we are, and the overall stoke they have for winter time backcountry travel, whether that be on a splitboard or skis!
With the support of Weston, Golden State Guiding is rolling out our Sierra Splitboard Program in the Mammoth Lakes area for the 2020/2021 snow season! The programming will be multifaceted and will cover a wide variety of topics in the field and also in a classroom setting. The overall goal of our Sierra Splitboard Program will be to introduce snowboarders and splitboarders to a new medium in their sport, to familiarize them with the current equipment in the market, to give them entry level tools to access the backcountry, and most importantly, lay a foundation for good practices in the future to make the best decisions possible when traveling in avalanche terrain. Twelve lucky ladies will have the opportunity to climb some of Joshua Tree’s most coveted rock climbing crags with our AMGA certified guides. Both days will be packed with fun climbing for all abilities, technical clinics introducing you to outdoor climbing, camaraderie, community and fun for all!
Our Ladies Weekend Out events are quickly becoming the go-to, all female climbing events to attend! Climb to Farm Event
Golden State Guiding has partnered up with our good friends at Patagonia and Enjoy the Farm for a fun weekend of rock climbing, camping, farm-to-table cuisine, up-cycling/ sustainable farming, and community!
Join us for an exciting weekend of rock climbing at two of San Diego’s most reputable crags with our professionally trained, AMGA Guides. After our first day of climbing, guests will have the opportunity to camp under the stars within the 9 acre, Enjoy the Farm grounds, take a tour of the facilities to learn about their regenerative fruit farm and up-cycling workshop, and enjoy each others company along the way. A fully catered, farm-to-table vegetarian dinner will be prepared by Chef Ron McCord Saturday evening along with refreshments provided by our friends Pure Brewing and Juneshine. Coffee and breakfast will also be provided Sunday morning.

What a great and fun filled 3rd annual BBQ’s x BELAY’s x BEER’s event last weekend in Joshua Tree, NP! Incredible climbing went down, crack climbing clinics were facilitated, a tasty dinner was served up, new friendships were forged and an overall awesome time was had by everyone! Big thanks to everyone who came out and participated in our 3rd annual BBQ’s x BELAY’s x BEER’s event, it was a pleasure having you all out in one of our favorite places to climb, Joshua Tree!

Red Rock Roundup Recap
Red Rock Roundup has officially come to an end! This past weekend we had the pleasure of taking out 14 awesome climbers to beautiful Red Rock Canyon for some unforgettable climbing in a very special place! Some BIG multi pitch climbs went down in the canyons with some of our seasoned guides, multiple crags were explored with our sport climbing group, clinics were taught by GSG Ambassador and Mr. #50512’s @shane.mclimbing and we even explored the finer techniques of aid climbing one of the days! Big thanks to everyone who attended our Red Rock Roundup fall event, it was a pleasure hanging with you all for the weekend. Red Rock plays host to some of the worlds best sandstone sport climbing crags, big wall routes and bouldering in the Western United States. Sierra Single Pitchn' Recap!
Well that's a wrap! Our second annual Sierra Single Pitchn' event in Mammoth Lakes, CA has officially come to an end. Two days of stellar climbing in the Eastern Sierra, perfect temps, and a great group of participants made for a memorable weekend! Our first day was spent out in beautiful Clark Canyon, a volcanic outcropping of rocks a few miles Northeast of Mammoth Lakes and loaded with hundreds of great sport climbing routes. After Clark Canyon the participants took to the 395 and back to Mammoth where they indulged in some tasty beverages at Mammoth Brewery, right in the heart of town, before heading back to camp for the night. Day 2 found everyone at the popular and always fun Horseshoe Slab behind Mammoth Mountain. Snow drifts still crowded the bottom of the climbs but that didn't stop this group from having a blast on their second day out! Big thanks to everyone who came out to our second annual Sierra Single Pitchn' event, it was a real pleasure getting to show you around some of our favorite areas to climb in the Mammoth Lakes area. Ladies Weekend Out is taking it to a national level and going to beautiful Estes Park, Colorado, just outside of Rocky Mountain National Park!
Golden State Guiding has partnered up with world renowned guide service, Colorado Mountain School and woman’s sports top industry leader and long time parter Tera Kaia for an all ladies weekend of climbing in Colorado, August 2nd - 4th! Fifteen lucky ladies will have the opportunity to climb some of Rocky Mountain National Parks most popular rock climbing crags with our professionally trained AMGA guides and enjoy two nights accommodation in the CMS Adventure Hostel, conveniently located in the middle of Estes Park. Red Rock Roundup Recap
We officially wrapped up our inaugural event in Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, Red Rock Roundup, and what an amazing event it was! 20 clients had the opportunity to either take to the canyons for a 2 day adventure on some multi pitch routes or had the luxury of hanging out in the first and third pullout with GSG guides and ambassadors for a sport climbing weekend. Two nights of camping were included where clients got to relive their first day adventures around our group campfire while meting new friends and enjoying good company all around. Big thanks to everyone who came out to attend our first annual Red Rock Roundup and an even bigger thanks to all the guides who helped facilitate the weekend, we couldn’t do it without our awesome team! Ladies Weekend Out // Spring 2019
Well another amazing weekend of climbing with a great group of Ladies went down for our Ladies Weekend Out, 2019 Spring event in San Diego! It was our largest group of Ladies to date for an LWO event at 15! Throughout the weekend all participants were taught the necessary skills on how to climb outdoors on their own including anchor building, rappelling, and gear placements, and of course, lots of climbing ensued! Saturday night found us at Saint Archer Brewery where the Ladies indulged in some tasty, local craft beer, delicious dessert provide by Riot Cake Co. and they finished off with a good ol’ fashioned brewery tour! Big thanks to all the Ladies that came out for the weekend, it was a pleasure having you all attend our event!
