The Vertical Hold, 2021 Member Special - Intro to Outdoor Rock Climbing Course, covers everything you need to know to get you outdoors and climbing on your own. You’ll learn the most commonly used knots and hitches and the appropriate times to apply and use them. You'll be taught how to build three different types of top rope anchors and be given instruction on when and where to use each anchor. Lastly, you'll be taught how to extend your rappel device and safely rappel utilizing a third hand auto-block as a backup. The Intro to Outdoor Rock Climbing Course is 8 hours in length and will be held at Mission Gorge in San Diego.
