MISSION GORGE ROCK CLIMBING

San Diego, CA

Mission Gorge plays host to the highest concentration of granite rock climbing in the greater San Diego area. Residing nearly 400’ feet above the San Diego River, you’ll be treated with scenic views of Mission Trails Regional Park while while you immerse yourself in the granite slabs and face climbs Mission Gorge has to offer. Most commonly known for its sport climbing, Mission Gorge also provides a variety of cracks and fissures at certain walls for the individual looking to place some trad gear and test their crack climbing abilities. With over 200 rock climbs, Mission Gorge is the perfect location for beginner climbers but can also accommodate the more experienced climber looking to take it to the next level. Mission Gorge is a west facing crag and does not receive sunlight until late morning making this place a year round climbing destination in San Diego.
